downingtown fine arts festival

Downingtown, Pennsylvania

Located 33 miles west of Philadelphia, Downingtown was settled by English and European colonists in the early 18th century. As you drive west on the original Lincoln Highway from Philadelphia, you'll pass through one charming historic suburb after another. Between shops and boutiques and restaurants and cafes, there is no end to the colors and flavors of the western suburbs of Chester county. Downingtown has its roots in pre-revolutionary war America, and still represents a charming slice of old Americana in the Main Street buildings and storefronts. Today Downingtown is experiencing a surge of growth and development, and Chester County's reknowned art heritage is continuing to flourish.
